Brownie! Who loves brownies? I do, and a lot, and sometimes I cannot stop eating… Do You know this feeling? So be prepared to eat whole bake at one sitting, sharing with someone, or not really. This is what can happen.
Therefore, brownies is so popular we shouldn’t stick with flour and cocoa only, add on some extra flavours to make it more interesting and delicious. Once I had brownie with strawberry filling in it and it was different, not saying bad, even if I cannot stand chocolate and strawberries at once, but it was a real jazz in my mouth! And brain. I actually thought to make it using cherry filling originally, but I am just a human after all, so don’t put a blame on me, if I saw a big yellow discount for oranges instead 😀
So, plan is changed and instead of having kinda elegant cherry filled brownie we have orange chocolate one, inspired by my favourite all time Jaffa Cakes!
Orange Chocolate Brownie
So, simplicity always wins. Who wants to spend hours in the kitchen keeping everything strict and tough, following many rules and measuring every ingredient? Sounds like alchemy rather than cooking for me, and takes all the joy away. I, and You, I believe love recipes in one bowl – low level of fuss and mess, so better than anything else, especially when good taste is guaranteed! Orange Chocolate Brownie is made in food processor or blender, simply blending all ingredients into one smooth mass and baking in the oven for not so long… Are You ready for this?
Jaffa cake inspired Orange Chocolate Brownie using simple ingredients and made in one bowl. Life is simply tastes better when You are vegan, true?
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 2-3 Tbsp olive oil or applesauce
- 1 tsp orange extract
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup self raising flour (GF)
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
First of all, preheat oven to 200 C (gas mark 6, 390 F).
Put banana, coconut milk, orange extract and olive oil or applesauce into food processor and pulse until smooth.
Add cocoa powder, flour and baking soda into banana mixture and pulse again, so everything is incorporated and smooth. Finally, if You feel really naughty add some chopped chocolate into batter and stir in.
Finally, pour the batter into a baking tray, sprinkle some chocolate on top and add some sliced orange. Put in the oven for 25 minutes and let it cool down before enjoying.
So, almost like a real massive Jaffa cake, just maybe better? I really miss sometimes that feeling when You go to superstore and just grab things You want without reading a label… Not gonna happen in my life anymore, but at home I have that amazing free from oasis where I thrive! Sadly, I live in fairly cold country and cannot grow pineapples and mangoes in my garden, otherwise it would be real heaven! Where do You live? Can You grow exotic fruits in Your garden? If yes, I am so jealous! So much! But in a good way, sort of…
Anyways, I hope You enjoy this simple low cleaning after recipe and going to share it with Your friends. The easiest way to do so is Pin it to Your Pinterest board or just give a link for chocolate obsessed friend 😉
